Display
Oppo R5 features a 5.2inch AMOLED display with FULL HD (1920 x 1080) resolution with 423 ppi. It will have the saturated colors and according to Oppo the viewing angles will be good even at 180 degree angle.
Oppo R5 features a reinforced industrial grade aluminum alloy micro-arc frame and as I said earlier it is as thin as 4.85mm. Because of that camera protrudes out on the top making it uneven when placed on a table or so and also they were not able to put a 3.5mm headphone jack. But in the box it is said to have USB-to-3.5mm Audio Adaptor for using the normal earphones.
When it is so tightly packed there will be an issue with heating but Oppo has Cool Element technology which is basically phase-shifting material in the phone which is made of metal, resin and other composite materials. When heat is generated, the material begins to change. This material not only absorbs any heat; it also radically improves thermal efficiency.
Specifications
Under the hood it features Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 615 (MSM8939 ) octacore 64bit chipset clocked at 1.5GHz processor with Adreno 405 GPU along with 2GB RAM. It has 16GB internal memory.
Camera
It features a 13MP rear camera which use a Sony IMX214 camera sensor with a aperture of f2.0 Surprisingly the chipset can capture 4K videos too. The camera has a number of interesting features which was present in Oppo’s flagship Find 7, like Fast Focus, Ultra HD and the new ones like re-focus etc. The front camera is a 5MP 83 degree wide angle lens unit.
O-Music
It is a basically a Bluetooth device like O-click but comes with 3.5mm headphone jack. It can click pictures and also used as function keys for music player.
Software
It runs on the latest Android 4.4.4 Kitkat and on the top it runs Color OS v2.0.1 , which surprisingly omits the appdrawer in the previous iteration. It has lot of features packed from gestures to customizations.
Battery
Since it is a thin phone one of the sacrifices they made is that it only has a 2,000mAh battery, but it gets onboard the VOOC mini charger, which charges the phone upto 75% in 30 minutes.
Connectivity
It features all the top end connectivity features from 4G LTE / 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac/b/g/n, Bluetooth with A2DP, GPS to NFC.

The Oppo R5 comes in Silver and Gold colors and is priced at $499.
